Self-Care Face & Body Lessons

Self-Care Face & Body Lessons

The Lymphatic Brush face and body self-care lessons unlock the mysteries of manually manipulating the lymphatic system with easy-to-follow, step-by-step stress-free routines.

Cecily refers to it as the “lazy” way to healthy skin. The more you relax into each routine and allow the stress to drain from you, the better it works.

When you relax and calm your mind, it has a trickle down effect that slows your breathing and balances your nervous system. In turn, this will cause your vessel systems to expand, improving the flow of blood and fluids.

Forget complicated routines and start simply by clearing the clutter and obstacles that interfere with the systems of the skin and their ability to protect, heal, hydrate, nourish and cleanse.

Lymphatic drainage is a restorative therapy that quiets the sympathetic nervous system, allowing the mind and body to rest and repair. Its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and de-congestive benefits make it relevant for medical, spa and home-care practices.

Kelly Sturm is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Board Certified Oncology Clinical Specialist who has one simple mission:

“To educate as many people as possible who are living with lymphedema (and after cancer) that pain, limitations and discomfort are common, but it doesn’t make them normal.

Many people who are affected by cancer and its treatment get told that chronic discomfort and pain are now their “new normal.” This could not be further from the truth. You don’t have to assume that living with pain is your only option.

With the right education and tools, you can minimize your symptoms and maximize your life. Empowering with education is the reason why Cancer Rehab PT exists.”

Pro Tip: Connect and Sweep | Avoid Flicking

The Lymphatic Brush is not a typical dry brush, but rather the first and only tool that is designed specifically to target the superficial lymphatic vessel system.

Due to the specific density and bristle pattern, it engages the skin in a precise way to soften tissue fluid and mimic the passive contraction of the lymph vessels to manually propel lymph through the vessel system.

The Lymphatic Brush is an easy and effective way to incorporate lymphatic drainage into your skin and body care routine. It’s durable, but soft and won’t cause pain or discomfort.

Pro TLB Tip: Connect and Sweep
The theory and techniques in the video can be transferred to using TLB in your personal care routine. Watch to the end for important tips.

Connect and sweep with a horizontal shift of the skin. Avoid the tendency to add pressure. .

Step 1: Open terminus with static rotations and gentle sweeping in the soft hollow at the base of the neck. Swipe through the posts for tutorials and instruction.
Step 2: Activate the lymph nodes in the region your working (groin, underarms, behind knee)

Step 3: Connect and sweep towards the closest lymph node clusters.

You can use short, long and overlapping sweeps to clear a pathway for fluids to flow to and through the lymph nodes to be filtered on their way back to the heart.

The Lymphatic Brush is used on dry skin, but the intention is to move lymph, not increase circulation as with dry brushing.

The Lymphatic Brush x Puffy Eyes & Dark Circles

Pro tip: The theory, pathways and techniques are the same whether you’re working on a client, or yourself. Use the contour of the cheekbone and work below the soft tissue under your eye.

Step 1: Open Terminus
Scroll down or visit the highlights for working the neck and the “opening sequence” video. This is non-negotiable when it comes to working with the lymphatic system and especially, reducing puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.

It’s about “connection” not pressure. Connect the textured bristles to the skin and allow the brush to do the work.

Look for the slight “stretch and shift” in the skin and allow it to naturally rebound.

It’s not about pressure, it’s about connection and directing the fluids outward and downward. The stretch is essential, so be sure you’re allowing the bristles to engage the tissue as you sweep. A gentle stretch will turn into a sweep as you glide the brush along the skin. That’s how it works!

Use the contours of your face as your guide and sweep along the natural geography of your skin. Not only will it feel good, it will unearth the beauty of your unique face and shape.

There is a step-by-step guidebook on the website. Link in bio.

Keep flowing and glowing!

Love your lymph!

Thank you Bea Perez @facialistabybea (Barcelona, Spain) for sharing this beautiful photo.

It’s amazing to see The Lymphatic Brush makes its way around the world, spreading the love and power of lymphatic drainage.

The Lymphatic Brush is a minimalistic and modern approach to skin and body care that focuses on the FUNCTION of your skin.

By focusing on our internal health and improving the function of our skin from within, we’re able to maximize the effectiveness of the products we use and reduce our dependency on complicated skincare routines and costly programs that often don’t work.

It’s a conscious consumer choice based on the awareness that “less is more” and ultimately, reduces waste on a grander scale. Less products = less investment = less waste.

💦 Focus on function; improve internal health
💦 Clear clutter; get rid of what’s not working
💦 Ease financial stress; save money
💦 Simplify routine; reduce anxiety, shame, guilt
💦 Have more time to rest; enjoy downtime
