Make sure to connect the textured bristles with the skin. This engages the tissue to create a slight stretch, or lymph pull that helps draw fluid upward.
đź’¦ Lymph Note!
Lymph from the leg drains into the inguinal lymph nodes located in the groin, so it’s important to activate this area first, along with sweeps on the upper leg before working the knee and lower leg.
đź’¦ Knee x Lower Leg
Lymph from the foot and skin of the lower leg is absorbed and filtered through the popliteal lymph nodes located in the hollow depression at the back of the leg.
It wraps around the inside of the knee as it makes its way up the leg to the inguinal lymph nodes in the groin.
As a bottle neck area, it’s important to work this area daily to help reduce swelling, fluid retention and pain.
đź’¦ Connect + Sweep
It’s not about pressure. It’s about connecting the textured bristles with the skin and allowing TLB to do the work.
Avoid dry brush “flicking” to ensure you’re maintaining connection as you sweep.
As always, I encourage you to play with The Lymphatic Brush, change the angle, vary the pressure and see what feels good and works for YOU!
Use caution and alter treatment if you have:
Bronchitis: don’t use directly over sternum
Menstruation: can make period heavier
Nevus (Raised Mole): work around
Low Blood Pressure: be careful of over-use, do shorter sessions
Hyperactive Thyroid: do not work on thyroid directly
Do not use if you have:
Active cancer
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Acute infection or inflammation
