I did two takes when creating this video and while they focus on the same techniques, they contain different information, so I thought I would post. I hate waste, especially when it comes to education and information to support the varying needs of each individual.
View Part 2 with additional instruction and notes: Puffiness & Dark Circles
🎥 Watch to the end for additional techniques for sagging jowls and relieving congestion around the nose that leads to puffiness, dark circles and appearance of sunken, or hollow eyes. It’s all connected, so once you begin, additional benefits of manual lymphatic drainage will unfold.
⚠️ Disclaimer: I have jet lag and experiencing a head cold, which has left my brain mush and in search of the correct words, along with redness and watery eyes.
While it’s okay to use The Lymphatic Brush with mild cold symptoms to relieve congestion and ease discomfort, you want to avoid if you have a fever, acute infection, sore throat, unexplained inflammation, or swollen lymph nodes. This means the lymphatic system is doing its job, so best to rest and allow the body to heal or seek medical attention.
⚠️ Be sure to wash your hands and cleanse your brush immediately afterward with a 70%+ alcohol and focus your routine on your neck and below the area of congestion.
💦 Fluids and Fibers The Lymphatic Brush helps create movement in the connective tissue, soften the tissue fluid (the precursor to lymph) that becomes gel-like and causes the layers of the skin to become “sticky,” limiting the natural sliding and gliding between the tissue and muscles and impeding the flow of fluids.
The Lymphatic Brush creates an “external tension” to release adhesions and restrictions that anchor down and contribute to sagging.
Wiggle, zig zag, pulse and sweep outward and downward, following the lymphatic pathways.
Use caution and alter treatment if you have:
Bronchitis: don’t use directly over sternum
Menstruation: can make period heavier (avoid abdomen)
Nevus: work around any raised moles
Low Blood Pressure: be careful of over-use, do shorter sessions
Hyperactive Thyroid: do not work on thyroid directly
Do not use if you have:
Active cancer (consult your medical team)
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Acute infection or inflammation
