Did you know TLB not only effectively supports lymphatic health, but is also a great tool for regulating your nervous system?
✔️furrowed brows?
✔️ squinty, tired eyes?
✔️ tension headache?
Those can all be symptoms of stress, being overworked, or consumed with worry and anxiety. The Lymphatic Brush can help soothe and relieve tension held in the upper part of your face.
👉🏼 Start with some deep diaphragmatic breathing to set the stage for relaxation. Focused breathing immediately puts you into the parasympathetic state. Continue with a consistent, even breath throughout your session.
👉🏼 Sweep under, above, and around the eyes.
👉🏼 Gently hook onto the brow, give a little wiggle if you want, and sweep up the forehead into the hairline.
👉🏼 Sweep along the forehead from the midline to the temple. You can even extend it around the back of the ear and down the neck.
💦 Slow + steady sweeps win the race! Move like molasses with the intention of calming + soothing stress.
💦 Think about softening the areas where stress is typically held – the jaw, eyes/brows, forehead. I like to incorporate gentle kneading with the brush to reduce muscle tension but static pumping a la MLD is highly effective at soothing the nervous system.
💦 Don’t forget the ears! Your vagus nerve “surfaces” within and below the ear…plus, ear massage is incredibly soothing.
Use caution and alter treatment if you have:
Bronchitis: don’t use directly over sternum
Menstruation: can make period heavier
Nevus (Raised Mole): work around
Low Blood Pressure: be careful of over-use, do shorter sessions
Hyperactive Thyroid: do not work on thyroid directly
Do not use if you have:
Active cancer
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Acute infection or inflammation
